Winter is on it’s way, Are you prepared for the Rain?

Are you prepared for the Rain?

I am sure you have heard all about the El Niño and LA Niña weather patterns.

el_nino_mapEl Niño events are associated with a warming of the central and eastern tropical Pacific, while LA Niña events are the reverse, with a sustained cooling of these same areas. These changes in the Pacific Ocean and its overlying atmosphere occur in a cycle known as the El Niño–Southern Oscillation (ENSO).

These weather patterns alter the amount of rain we get across this great nation of ours, with opposite effects on both sides of the country. It floods in the east we get drought in the west and vice versa.

According to the Bureau of Meteorology or BOM we are now in El Niño and that means drought in the east and increased rainfall for WA.

BOM predict that June to August the southern half of Western Australia will have a 70 -75% chance of exceeding median rainfall.

So again I ask; Are you prepared for the rain?

At A & B Canvas Australia it is our mission to ensure you are.

We custom manufacture tarpaulins and covers designed to protect your load, your equipment even yourself from the rains that are coming.

Rain can be our best friend and also our worst enemy. We embrace the rain as the giver of life; it makes the crops grow, brings our landscape back to green, fills our dams and gives the place a clean.

But there is a sinister side. Water causes the worst damage imaginable and it seems to get in everywhere.

The best thing to do is to put a barrier between the rain and the things you need to keep dry. The easiest way is to keep them indoors but this is not always practical, so what to do if the machinery takes up too much space inside, you could utilise that space for other things.

You could build a new shed but how much will that cost?

For less than the price of the planning and council approval of that shed you can have that equipment completely protected with a tarpaulin or a custom cover manufactured by A & B Canvas Australia.

Simply send in your measurements or give us a call on 9353 2550 and we will come out and help you make the right decision.

We have been in the business of protecting Western Australia for 50 years now, so we know our stuff and we will give all of our knowledge of specialised textiles so that your expensive machinery or that load of cargo is covered and protected with the right product for the job.

Tarpaulin, Tarpaulins, Tarp & Tarps

Tarpaulin, Tarpaulins, Tarp & Tarps,

However you refer to them it’s all about protecting something.

Heavy duty tarpaulins for transport, roof tarps, a tarpaulin to cover a trailer, every where you go there you’ll find a tarp.

This is the start of me bringing to the world all you will ever need to know about tarps, and covers and the industrial textiles they are made from, such as canvas, PVC, polyethylene to name but a few.

This will lead to the creation of white papers or consumer guides to the canvas industry. I will be covering such subjects as: tarpaulin construction, uses and how to choose the right tarp for the right job. Curtainsiders, all you need to know. Chemical resistance of industrial textiles. Shadesail how to DIY. Awnings and tension structures. and the list goes on.

I look forward to feedback, advice and questions. I listen to people everyday at my factory in Kewdale, (Perth) and help solve there tarp requirements so by getting your frustrations, your questions and your needs you will help make these reports more valuable to everyone.
